Abstract:
This study aims at identifying the extent of marital harmony and the mutual perceptions between the spouses toward family life dimensions. It also aims at learning the relationship between the marital harmony of the mutual perceptions between the spouses according to the study variables (marriage duration, children number, the economical condition, kinship relation, family type "nuclear, extended"). In order to recognize the mutual perceptions nature and its impact on the other as a life partner, and to recognize the ego and the other image that helps to understand the relationship between man and woman, and to shed the light not only on the negative thoughts but also on the positive one, and to try to show the excellence and uniqueness sides in their characters, and to verify the study aims, the following questions were formed: 1- What is the size of the correlation between the mutual perceptions between the spouses toward family life dimensions and the marital harmony? 2- Does the degree of the marital harmony between the spouses differ in accordance with the difference in the mutual perceptions nature toward the family life dimensions ( identical, apart)? 3- Do the mutual perceptions between the spouses toward the family life dimensions differ in accordance with the difference of the following variables ( marriage duration, children number, the economic condition, kinship relation, family type :nuclear, extended")? 4- Does the marital harmony differ in accordance with the difference of the following variables ( marriage duration, children number, the economic condition, kinship relation, family type "nuclear, extended")? The study sample society included the married female teachers in the preparatory and primary governmental girls schools that follow the Ministry of Education- Eastern and western directorates in Gaza Province. The Study took place in the second term of the study year 2011. The study tools were implemented on each teacher and her husband. The sample included 400 persons (200 wives, 200 husbands). The researcher used the descriptive relational approach. The researcher also used several measures in order to implement the study as: the measure of the mutual perceptions between the spouses toward the family life dimensions that was prepared by the researcher herself and the marital satisfaction measure prepared by Viola Al Beblawi. In order to verify the study results, the researcher used the following statistical tools: Pearson's correlation coefficient, variance analysis (anova), (t) test for two independent samples. The results showed that there is a positive correlation and statistical significance between all the dimensions of the mutual perceptions between the spouses and the overall degree of the marital harmony. Also the results came up with the existence of difference in statistical significance at (05.0) significance level between the average of spouses degrees on the mutual perception measure according to (children number, marriage duration, the economic condition) variables. While the study showed that there is no difference in statistical significance at (05.0) significance level between the average of spouses degrees on the mutual perceptions measure according to ( kinship relation, family type "nuclear, extended") variables. The results showed that there is a significant statistical difference in the marital harmony due to the nature of the spouses variable (identical, apart) and that was on the overall degree of the marital harmony on behalf of the identical spouses. The study also showed that there is a significant statistical difference at (05.0) significance level between the averages of spouses degrees on the marital harmony measure according to (children number, marriage duration, the economic condition) variables. While there is no significant statistical differences at (05.0) significance level between the averages of the spouses degrees on the marital harmony measure according to ( kinship relation, family type "nuclear, extended") variable.
